"Energy is eternal delight." ~ William Blake

An influence for me has been my lifelong path of studying Zen and practicing and teaching Tai Chi Chuan to others. Another influence, from high school, was a loved English teacher who focused on William Blake; the message of the poet / artist had a strong impact on me and I revisit Blake's poems and art from time to time.

All of these streams of experience are dedicated to answering the age-old questions: is there something beyond the changeability and fragility of life as we usually experience it?

We will explore and provide pointers to experiential answers to these questions.

Feedback from recent webinars:

"I enjoyed the opportunity to discuss, opine, on a fascinating subject. The juxtaposition with Zen Buddhism was a complete learning experience. Seeing my classmates was a bonus. I can't think of a thing to change." ~ Dan Klein

“The amount of information was terrific, dialogue was great. I wouldn't change anything. I thought meeting everyone was wonderful and having the dialogue. I am interested in attending more webinars.” ~ Karen C.

“Perfect. Very Comfortable interaction. A professional presentation. I liked listening to your personal experiences and those of others.” ~ Michele F.

“I thought it was very effective and constructive. I enjoyed the candor of presenters and openness to discuss concerns and clarify.” ~ Karen S.

***************************

In this webinar, David B. Alexander, licensed psychoanalyst and gestalt therapist, will present quotes from Zen wisdom as well as from poet and artist William Blake, who lived in England at the turn of the 19th century. Some of the Blake quotes are fairly well known ("To see a World in a Grain of Sand... And Eternity in an hour"), but they are rarely discussed and explored.

William Blake was influenced by the spiritual concepts and philosophies of Emanuel Swedenborg, Jakob Böhme, the Moravian church, and others. I will be concentrating on the essence in Blake's verbal and visual depictions of creativity, reason, eternity, infinity, and transcendence, and compare directly with the teachings of Zen, so that together we can explore, taste, and enjoy those wonderful aspects of our human experience.

I had both the privilege and good fortune to first connect with David in 2019. In retaining his services, I found him to be highly professional, insightful, authentic, patient, and kind. I greatly appreciated his direct approach, thoughtful consideration, and engaging manner.

As it turns out, the feedback and insight he provided me turned out to be absolutely spot on, over the course of time. It is a pleasure to recommend David as a pragmatic, discerning, and intuitive counselor, therapist, and leader.

David recently did a presentation on non-violent communication on behalf of one of my clients, an HR firm. To say that he hit it out of the ballpark would be an understatement. He was engaging, used real-world scenarios and examples and provided the attendees with actionable take-aways to help them navigate the sometimes-tricky world of intergenerational workplace communication.

David is genuine and empathetic. Even during a brief training, his message resonated with this audience of business owners, HR managers and C-suite executives. We received extremely positive feedback from the attendees and highly recommend David for consulting and training in this area.
