The Book of Job, Zen, and Turning in the Seat of Consciousness
This non-religious webinar will look at the implications for our lives of the Book of Job: what it reveals about our human potential, what obstacles can impede that potential, and approaches to overcome those obstacles. Join us on November 7th, 7pm to 8:30pm ET.
Without mysteries, what can we achieve?
The Book of Job is believed to be the oldest book in the Old Testament. As such, its primal nature about human existence speaks beyond dogma and religious doctrine. We will explore what is says about human nature, and remove some of the mystery.

Feedback from recent webinars:
"I joined the webinar as a basic interest, and am happy I participated. Structure was good, length was also good. I enjoyed the historical content, and will absolutely use your glass half full/empty/both reference if okay with you!!!!" ~ Karen G.
"The visual aids (art and music both) were excellent by clarifying, elucidating, and enhancing the ideas expressed in the texts. There were thoughtful questions and comments from participants, who received informed and often very full responses. We appreciated, too, your easy, open manner that included humor now and again to go along with the heady, challenging thought." ~ Carol and Jim M.
"I enjoyed the opportunity to discuss, opine, on a fascinating subject. The juxtaposition with Zen Buddhism was a complete learning experience. Seeing my classmates was a bonus. I can't think of a thing to change." ~ Dan Klein
"Thank you very much, David, for putting together this most interesting and stimulating lecture! I liked... comparing Blake's ideas with Zen Buddhism. I liked the structure. The text on the slides was clear and the background of the text slides, e.g. showing Blake's paintings, added interest." ~ Ken Z.
“The amount of information was terrific, dialogue was great. I wouldn't change anything. I thought meeting everyone was wonderful and having the dialogue. I am interested in attending more webinars.” ~ Karen C.
“Perfect. Very Comfortable interaction. A professional presentation. I liked listening to your personal experiences and those of others.” ~ Michele F.
“I thought it was very effective and constructive. I enjoyed the candor of presenters and openness to discuss concerns and clarify.” ~ Karen S.

Overview
In this webinar, I will present the foundational principles of Zen and Buddhism, and how they apply in modern life. The foundational principles that will be presented are the Middle Way, Four Noble Truths, Eightfold Path, and Three Treasures. Although the names sound a bit mysterious, they refer to very practical and universal aspects of our human life.
I started pursuing my inner calling at the age of 17. That included studies of Zen and starting several years later, Tai Chi Chuan. Those interests, and practices have persisted to this day, along with my teaching of those topics.
Fortunately, kind and wise mentors have prevented me from following dead end or unproductive paths, which often present themselves along the way. I want to share that personal experience along with the statements of principles and insights regarding Zen and Buddhism.
Having walked in the mind's swamp, smelling the fragrant wild swamp roses, and returning to dry land, I want to share the journey with you.
