Nonviolent Communication (NVC) Workshop
Join our free online meeting, facilitated by psychotherapist David B. Alexander, on Saturday January 13th, from 10:00am to 11:30am ET.
This will be an interactive workshop, discussing issues or questions that attendees bring in, or if those are not available, brought in by the facilitator.
What can you do if your spouse (or significant other) tells you that there is a spark missing in the relationship? If others in your work or among your friends are interrupting and talking over you, what can you do to handle that effectively and without anger? How do you respond if someone says, "You are the smartest (best-looking / kindest / most honest...) person they have ever met?
These are examples of a variety of situations that may come up in one's experiences, and we often do not handle them as well as we could. Through deeper understanding, these and other situations can be handled with skill, kindness, and effectiveness in benefiting others and oneself, and contributing to a world that is more fulfilled and therefore more at peace.
Feedback from recent webinars:
“The amount of information was terrific, dialogue was great. I wouldn't change anything. I thought meeting everyone was wonderful and having the dialogue. I am interested in attending more webinars.” ~ Karen C.
"I was impressed that people actually felt comfortable enough to share incidents / issues from their own lives. Suggests they felt comfortable with you." ~ Mary Ann H.
“Perfect. Very Comfortable interaction. A professional presentation. I liked listening to your personal experiences and those of others.” ~ Michele F.
“I thought it was very effective and constructive. I enjoyed the candor of presenters and openness to discuss concerns and clarify.” ~ Karen S.
***************************
In this webinar, David B. Alexander, LP will facilitate conversations about communication, and work either with specific situations brought by participants, or with planned examples that provide material for meaningful dialogue and practice. The guideline for this exploration will be Nonviolent Communication, an empathic and clear approach to human connection first outlined by the late psychologist Dr. Marshall Rosenberg. Other approaches will also be brought in as appropriate, to support a deeper understanding of various situation that arise in life.
Unlike the previous recent presentations of Nonviolent Communication, this is a workshop rather than a presentation and will focus on conversation among those present at the webinar, guided by the facilitator. We will preserve confidentiality and there will be no recording.
Note: if any attendee does not wish to join in the discussion, but prefers to observe and absorb, that preference will be respected.
The workshop will take place online via Zoom. The meeting can be joined via ordinary phone, but for a full experience use of a computer will allow an easier time seeing the participants.
You can call (718) 229-2609 if you have any questions.
