Tai Chi Chuan Workshop - Sunday September 22nd
In this workshop, we will deepen our practicce and our Tai Chi Chuan skills. I will also share what I have learned in 45 years of Tai Chi Chuan practice and teaching. And, we have dinner together afterwards. Note: for weekly classes in Long Island and Manhattan, read here.
The goal is to provide an enjoyable and stimulating learning and practice experience for all participants, as well as enjoying a community of practitioners who value well-being, health, and sharing. We will be meeting at a new location: 440 Lafayette Street Room 4G, New York 10003.
Early bird pricing is good through September 8th.
**********
The workshop starts at 3:00pm, after the regular 2:00pm all-levels Short Form class:
3:00 Short Form Refinement - learn to deepen your connection to the energy and flow of the Yang-style Short Form, while also adjusting body mechanics and positioning to align with the Tai Chi Chuan principles; this is a lifelong learning practice
4:00 Push-Hands - we will review various push-hands sequences, as well as having free-form practice focused on awareness and responsiveness. Those who are new will be given special attention to foster a positive experience
5:00 Punching/Applications - this will involve punching with targets (not sparring) and applications. It includes the use of Tai Chi Chuan principles for fluid, forceful punching as well as discussing how the Short Form illustrates handling of incoming pushes or punches. If you have any gloves and punching targets, you can bring those; they will also be provided subject to class size
Note: if you know a new practitioner, please let them know that they can join the 2pm class to get started in this practice for Energy, Clarity, and Health!
